I just finished writing my first homework assignment of the new year. My student's assignment is to write a haiku that describes who they are without putting their name in the haiku. I will post them around the room and then the student who can correctly place their classmates with their haiku will win extra credit.
Here are their* directions:
A haiku is a poem that expresses a single feeling or impression. It contains three lines that do not rhyme.
Line One: Five Syllables
Line Two: Seven Syllables
Line Three: Five Syllables
Sample Haiku:
Teacher, crazy loud
loves K-State, jogging with friends
will destroy bad kids.
Can you guess who that describes?
*Okay, now it is your turn. Describe yourself by creating a haiku. The best one receives extra credit to be shared with Santa.
